Training employees

When a corporation has a specific goal in mind, they have to be aware that every employee down to the lower level workers in their company is crucial. How do you make sure the CEO's goals are met by the lower level workers? Through effecient and effective training programs. Training programs must be developed so that employees fully understand their duties and how they will affect the company. No details can be missed, even if it means teaching your employess how to write business letters. Training programs should educate employees not only on how to do their jobs, but also how to do their jobs well. You cant teach someone to have ethics, but teaching employees about your culture and what's appropriate is important. Scenario based trainig is very good because people learn through experiences very well. It's a manager duty to train employees well enough that they can concentrate on their own duties and not have to worry about employees making many errors.

Motivating Employees

In order for a company to perform at it's highest level, employees have to perform the way management envisions. This does not come necessarily from raise in wages or more incentives. Rather, employees can be motivated through more simple methods that are just as effective. One method for motivating employees could be through teamwork. Allowing employees to collaborate with coworkers on important projects where they are allowed to give input and make decisions is one way. Empowering your employees through added responsibilities and duties is another way. If you can show an employee how important their role in your corporation is, it will give them a sense of pride when they do their job.
Another way to motivate employees is through a rewards program. Where their performance could win them a new electronic or a voucher for a resteraunt of choice. Something so simple as handing out paper awards or a plaque would motivate employees also. Letting your employees know that you appreciate their hard works would change their attitudes toward their job in most ciscumstances.

Keeping Employees

Employee Retention has been a huge issue lately. As discussed in my previous blog, the millenial generation has increased the turnover rate for corporations in recent years. But now corporations are learning that expectations of employees has risen over the years. These days, people want more from their jobs. Opportunistic employees want the best paying job that offers them security. With emergences of new industries, new jobs have opened as well. If your employees see that a job pays them more or offers them more security, they are more than likely to go for another occupation.
Giving your employees the positive reinforcent they need that lets them know they dont only work for you, but that you are working for them too, will help retain some employees. Compensating people by what they deserve rather than what's cheapest for your company is important too. While management has their eyes on employees, employees are watching management also. It's important to encourage a friendly and happy work environment in any and every industry. Curving the turnover rate requires more effort from management. Realize that you expect certain things from your employees, but now they have expectations of you, and if they are not met, they will seek new employment.

How to improve employee retention in millenial generation

Employee retention has been a growing issue in the workforce as of late. Due in part to the millenial generation making up the larger part of the workforce, we are finding that staying in one career is not as popular now as it was years ago. This could be because peoples attitudes toward their jobs are changing. Before, people would keep a job as long as it kept their family well fed. Now people want a job that they love and pays well. The simplist way to put it is, if it dont make dollars, it dont make sense. The millenial generation grew up in a different culture where extravagant things became almost a necessity. People want means to not only acquire things they need, but what they want. If the job they are provided with does not allow for them to get the things they want, its on to the next job. Corporate dedication is non existent.
